After studying Hotel Management at Cesar Ritz and Hospitality Management at Washington State University (WSU)—where he was already DJing regularly on and around campus—Gunther moved to Paris to study electronic music production at SAE.
He returned to Beirut in 2005, where he worked at Grey Worldwide during the day and spun at Lila Brown and X-OM at night. His career soon evolved, and in 2007 he became the resident DJ of B018 as well as assistant to the founder.
Together with Stamina, he hosted a radio show on Mix FM that lasted 10 years, becoming the first Middle Eastern radio show dedicated to underground music.
Gunther has played thousands of gigs alongside some of the biggest names in the scene and has regularly performed across most Arab countries. He also appeared at high-profile global events such as Formula 1 in Bahrain for two consecutive years (2009 and 2010), Fashion TV Arabia’s 20th Anniversary, and Creamfields Abu Dhabi in 2012 and 2013. In 2009, he served as a jury member at the DJ Championship of the 6ème édition des Jeux de la Francophonie and later became resident DJ at O2 in Atlantis Dubai from 2014 to 2015.
His background in hospitality and management enabled him to work on several major projects, including BO18 & B018 Classic, Capitole, and Bar National as Head of Entertainment Manager. He is also the co-founder of Rubik, Merry Go Round, Vellocet, and most recently DEFOG.
Gunther continues to consult on entertainment for various entities and has always been committed to mentoring young DJs, helping them refine their skills. A strong believer in youth, he thrives on passing down his knowledge of music theory and technique to the next generation.
