In the vibrant world of music, where fame often demands a spotlight, BiG AL stands as a paradoxical legend. For over 35 years, he has operated in the shadows, crafting a sonic universe so profound that it has reverberated through the industry’s underbelly, shaping genres and influencing generations.
Armed with a degree in marketing, sound design & engineering, BiG AL honed his craft under the mentorship of some of the world's most esteemed sound engineers, including the revered Angel Moraes (RIP) at Stereo Montreal, Craig “Shorty” Barnebeau from SBS Systems NYC and Rob Small Mastering UK. This rigorous training provided him with an unparalleled mastery of acoustics and production techniques, allowing him to create soundscapes of breathtaking complexity and depth.
Known to few and seen by even fewer, BiG AL is a specter of musical genius. His presence is felt through a series of hypnotic releases and elusive aliases, each one a masterstroke that leaves an indelible mark on those who encounter it. His sound is a labyrinth of innovation; deep, complex, and often bottom heavy, echoing with avant-garde visions and timeless melodies.
Despite his reclusive nature, BiG AL’s impact is undeniably seismic. He is the silent storm behind countless chart-topping hits, the hidden architect of legendary releases, and the muse of many celebrated artists who publicly credit his influence while privately admiring his discretion. He owns and runs Ready Mix Records, Haute Musique, and Sonic Safari, as well as manages Itom Records, Embliss Records, NYLove Music, Diggers Delight, +961 Rekords, Tiny Lamp Music and Stereo Trip. Labels that serve as a testament to his vast influence, building a community of over 600 artists and releasing over 7500 songs. His labels have become a nurturing ground for creative minds, amplifying voices and shaping the future of music in ways that often go unnoticed by the mainstream.
Operating with a deliberate anonymity, limiting interviews and public appearances for the sake of his craft. His studio, a sanctum of creativity, is his only stage where he immerses himself in the delicate alchemy of sound. His choice to remain behind the scenes is a deliberate testament to his belief that music speaks louder than any persona ever could.
He is a symbol of how profound influence can be wielded from behind the scenes.
